If you're looking for ways to participate with Hope For Tomorrow you've come to the right place. Hope Ideas is where we will list some practical and fun ways that you can get involved with Hope For Tomorrow. It could be as easy as sending an email or as exciting as throwing a birthday party. Whatever the activity you will be actively promoting Hope For Tomorrow Children's Home and will help us raise awareness. Oh, and if you have an idea, please feel free to contact us and send it to us!
Our website is a perfect way for you to share with others what God is doing at Hope For Tomorrow Children’s Home. It's new design makes it even easier for someone to quickly find out who we are, what we've been up to lately, and, most importantly, all kinds of information and pictures of our children. Write them an email or tell them the next time you see them to check us out at www.hope4tomorrow.net
Facebook has become THE place to be, and you can find us there as well. Just go to www.facebook.com/hopechildren and get recent news. While you are there, be sure to "Like" us, and share our facebook page with your friends and family
Every month we send out our newsletter with a recap of the best activities and news about our children. If you receive this newsletter, forward it to a friend or family member so they too can learn about Hope For Tomorrow. If you aren't receiving our newsletter, be sure to sign up for it.
If your child (or an adult with a “special” birthday) is interested in doing something for Hope for Tomorrow, suggest a “Hope Birthday Party”. Plan a fun activity that everyone would enjoy (e.g., a carnival, scavenger hunt, pool party). Ask the children to bring monetary donations for the children’s home instead of gifts for the birthday child/adult. Depending on the age of the child, you may decide to have a Hope for Tomorrow volunteer come and speak to your guests about the work at the children’s home.
If your school is interested in doing something for the children’s home, plan a project around Guatemala and the Children’s Home. Ideas might include learning about Guatemala (Mayan culture, rainforest, volcanoes, ruins); learning about displaced children and the need for quality care for these children; raising funds for the children’s home (hat day, selling water bottles, making/selling Guatemalan crafts, selling Guatemalan coffee); having a volunteer come in and talk about the children home; and becoming pen pals with the children.
What if Hope For Tomorrow Children’s Home earned a penny every time you searched the Internet? Or how about if a percentage of every purchase you made online went to support our cause? Well, now it can! GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half it’s advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. Use it just as you would any search engine, get quality search results from Yahoo, and watch the donations add up! Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter Hope For Tomorrow Children’s Home (Lexington, KY) as the charity you want to support. From here you can set this page as your default home page, or you can add it as a toolbar, or even a custom search box. It’s an easy, but extremely helpful way to get involved with our ministry.
If your church supports local children during the holiday season, please consider adding our children (Miguel, Edwin, Amelia, Lidia, Carlos, Juan Jose, Moses, and Angel) to your angel tree. Our children need no toys or clothing at this time. Rather, please ask anyone who picks them to consider supplying the child’s rice, vegetables, and meat for one month or for the entire year through a food sponsorship.
If you have tried one of our HOPE Ideas, we'd love to hear from you. Maybe you threw a Hope Birthday Party for your son, or maybe your daughter did a project on Hope For Tomorrow, or maybe you did something totally new. Whatever it is, your story can be inspiring to others and show just how easy it is to get involved with our ministry. Please contact us with your story on how you used a HOPE Idea to tell your friends and family about Hope For Tomorrow.
What we have listed here are just a few examples of easy ways to get involved with our ministry, but you may have your own. It could be something you've seen, or maybe even done yourself. If you have a creative idea that you'd like to share, contact us and let us know! We are always looking for new, easy, and exciting ways that people can use.
