Our Faith
Statement of faith
About the Bible
We believe “all Scripture is inspired by God” and without error (2 Timothy 3:16a). We believe the Bible is infallible and the only Word of God, spoken to men through the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:20-21).
About God
We believe God has always existed and “in the beginning, [He] created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1; John 1:1-3). We believe He has, is, and will live eternally as three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:26; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 4:4-5).
About Jesus
We believe Jesus was the Son of God (Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:35) and was born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:25). We believe He lived a sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:15) and died for the sins of all mankind in order that mankind might be saved (John 3:17). We believe Jesus is “the Way, the Truth, and the Life”; and that no one can come to God except through Jesus (John 14:6). We believe He will reign forever (1 Timothy 6:13-16; Philippians 2:9-11).
About the Holy Spirit
We believe the Father sent His Spirit to indwell within us (John 14:16-17). We believe the Spirit convicts the world of sin (John 16:7-11). We believe we live each day walking in the Spirit (Galatians 5:25).
About Mankind
We believe mankind was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), but through Adam’s sin, the entire human race was separated from God (Genesis 1:17-19; Romans 5:12). We believe mankind is totally depraved and all men have “fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
About Salvation
We believe salvation is a free gift from God and our salvation is through faith alone and not by works (Ephesians 2:8-9). We believe Christ paid the price for our sin through His precious blood and that He was buried and God raised Him again on the third day after His crucifixion (1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Matthew 27:35, 28:5-7). We believe those who repent of their sin and trust Christ as their only Savior are new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17) and inherit the Kingdom of God (John 3:3).
