Anti-Bacterial Tests And Treatments
From Hope for Tomorrow
Over the past week, life around Hope for Tomorrow has been a bit chaotic. After our older children and their care-givers came down with a stomach bacteria (helicobacter pylori), we have had a steady rise in infections among all of our staff. As of today (10/12), all but 4 staff members have tested positive for this bacteria, as well as all three of our older children. Thankfully, none of our youngest children have symptoms and all seem to be in good health!
Since we are committed to the health and safety of both our children and our staff, we have made a commitment to cover the cost of both testing and treatment for our staff. While we are doing all that we can to keep this price low, in a country like Guatemala, the price of even normal anti-biotics can be staggering (especially as we look at treating nearly 16 people) (~$80 per round of anti-biotics).
Please help us offset the cost of keeping our children and staff as safe as possible through this outbreak!
