From Hope for Tomorrow

Dental care is a luxury for most families in Guatemala so when we take in a child it's common for them to have never seen a dentist. Add to that a diet heavy in sugar and poor dental hygiene and you can imagine the poor dental conditions that many of our children have. Because the amount of work a child needs can be so extensive we first begin with impacted and infected teeth, then work on repairing cavities, then work on preventive care with sealants, and finally, for our older children, corrective care. Good dental hygiene is crucial to a child's development and is a priority for us at Hope for Tomorrow.
