Clayton Farris Memorial

From J.
Clayton Farris, 71, of Louisville, KY, passed peacefully to his Heavenly Father on Friday, July 28th surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 16th, 1952, in Lexington, KY to Harry and Loretta Farris, he was raised in the small town of Buckland, Ohio. Blessed with a hard work ethic, a can-do attitude and his knack for business sense, he retired as a Senior VP of the Mortgage Division. During his 21-year career, he received many accolades and awards for his production, however, his true joy was serving his clients with integrity and always looking out for their best interest. He was such a force to be reckoned with that his self-proclaimed nickname, "The Legendary Clayton Farris," was widely adopted and never questioned. More important than career achievements, Clayton was a devoted husband, a fun-loving Dad, a dependable brother, a loyal friend, and a really cool "Pa." At the encouragement of dear friends, he and Donna joined Beargrass Christian Church together. The church served as the perfect outlet for Clayton to serve others and often he could be found leading his Fellowship Sunday School class, tackling special projects, driving the church bus, and participating in many outreach and mission trips. He was a champion for the church's Prison Reentry program. He was on the board of St. Mathews Area Ministries and was dedicated to furthering their goals. He ultimately became an elder in the church and, as he said to many, he firmly believed "every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future."
He always made time for his wife and daughters; his family was his #1 priority. He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Donna, daughters Andrea (Marty III) and Rachel (Keith), grandchildren Jacob, Luke, Drew, Eleanor, and Marty IV, and brother Robin Farris. He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Beargrass Christian Church or the Hope for Tomorrow Children's Home in Guatemala City.
