Hope for Literacy is an initiative of Hope for Tomorrow, started in order to offer support to nearly teachers of nearly 60 classrooms across Guatemala City.

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic this work needed to come to a halt. However, we are pleased to announce that this initiative will resume beginning later this month during a Professional Development Conference hosted by Dr. Jennifer Grisham, Dr. Mary Louise Hemmeter, and Dr. Marga Cañadas!

This conference will serve as an opportunity to check in with our teachers, share expertise, and do our best to assist our teachers in the work of returning to what they love - teaching their children in person

Please support us so that we can make this event as fruitful as possible for all of our returning (and new) teachers as we enter into a new chapter of Hope for Literacy.

Hi everyone, I hope you're well! First and foremost, I want to thank each of you for your care and generosity! Nearly a week ago, we set out to raise $1,000 to fund our "kick-off" professional development conference! Thanks to each of you, we quickly raised that amount and much more!! As of now, all extra funds will be directed toward the next chapter of our program! Thats right! We'll be buying and shipping even more books, developing and delivering even more resources, and soon we will begin supporting the creation of schoolwide lending libraries. Look out for updates on all of these initiatives! With your help, we are on our way toward equipping all of our teachers with the tools they need to be as successful as possible - thank you again! Peace.
